Caregiver need to know what is Decubitus ulcer,because decubitus ulcer,can be a painful for the patient.



What is decubitus ulcer?

A Decubitus ulcer is an area of cellular necrosis that is caused by the lack of blood circulation to the involved area.where as,decubitus ulcer,is commonly known for,pressure sore and bed sore.

Necrosis means that,there is a death cells.

Decubitus derives from a latin word,meaning,lying down.but lying down is not the cause of decubitus ulcer,and not just a bed ridden  are prone to this said,decubitus ulcer or pressure sore,and in comparing what is the most best to used word in either of the two,is pressure sore,this word is commonly known, and when we say pressure sore,it is understandably and preferred for most to used the word,pressure sore, and in fact also bedsore is common likewise and used for some,but whether its a decubitus, a bedsore,a pressure sore,this is the same,and one result will appeared.  

Decubitus ulcer or pressure sore,are the result of developing death cells,in those pressured area of the body,where the pressure is often occurred,and with the poor circulation of blood,decubitus ulcer will appear in those pressured area of the body.    

decubitus ulcer are mostly appeared to a disabled patient or immobility,this kind of patient case is prone to pressure sore,paralyzed and unconscious or bedridden patient,if allowed to remain in one position often times,for sure pressure sore will be appearing.

The responsibility of the Caregiver is must to be often be maintained,by changing the position of the patient at all times,mostly the ideal interval is every 4 hours,and need to change to another position,and
if this will be maintained,the caregiver can prevent his/her patient,to catch decubitus ulcer or pressure sore.

Even to anyone of us,can cause that we called,the decubitus ulcer,pressure sore, and bedsore,when remaining for prolonged hours in one position,we can able to feel it,because of the pain,and that's the sign that the pressure is present on certain area where the pressure is.for us,we can able to fell it,then react on to it,by standing when we are sitting,or changing position quickly as soon we feel it,and we can able to prevent it,but for those disabled patient,paralyzed,unconscious,they're vulnerable to developed it quickly,and can be worse,that's why!Caregiver is always on the picture,in comes to this kind of situation,and the responsibility of any caregiver with this kind of patient,is often times,to change the position of the patient,not allowing to stay or remained in one position.
